For Alumnae

President Sr. Patricia Wolf, RSM

Dear Alumnae,

Greetings and a warm welcome! In the 118 years since the founding of St. Catharine Academy by the Sisters of Mercy we have consistently provided young women with the skills and confidence to become effective, contributing members of our society. This year is no exception.

In 2007 we are proud of several achievements. SCA received its seven year re-accreditation by the Middle States Association for Colleges and Secondary Schools.

Students are moving onto a variety of colleges & institutions of higher learning such as Harvard, University of Chicago, Penn State, Williams, Howard University, Manhattan College and Fordham University to name a few. More than 3 million in scholarships was earned by our graduating class.

In the area of sports, we have won our division championships in volleyball, basketball and softball. SCA cheerleaders continue to improve their national standing moving up to a rank of 13th in the nation.

Science labs are being refurbished and technology in the classrooms is always expanding.

At the heart of our progress is a strategic plan that combines academic excellence, women's leadership, and service, and embraces all aspects of school life.

I invite you to explore our website and get to know the vibrant community that SCA is today.

Alumnae contributions are vital for our continued growth. Our Annual Fund exists to provide a way for you and other members of the SCA family to support the school and its special covenant with young women. Each and every year, financial contributions that are unrestricted, are used to support vital programs and services for our students.

My sincere gratitude and thanks to all who have supported SCA with your gifts throughout the year. You have made so much more possible. I look forward to your continued companionship as we continue our journey.
