Leadership: Meet Naomi W. '23

Naomi W. completed the West Point Summer Leaders Experience in 2022. The week-long program, which included selected students from all 50 states and around the world, challenged her physically and academically while giving her a glimpse of what it would be like to attend West Point at the College level.

 

A well rounded student at SCA, Naomi is a member of the National Honor Society, the Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society, and works on the Yearbook. Naomi is a leader.  She has been junior class president and was recently elected Student Body President. She is also a member of the nationally ranked SCA cheerleading team. Outside of school, Naomi volunteers as a coach for a youth track team.

Reflecting on her West Point experience, Naomi says, "I think this experience helped me grow in learning about different perspectives and knowing that there are other ways that people view things. Talking with people from different areas of the world than what you are used to is really helpful in gaining more knowledge and understanding parts of life that you may not be exposed to."

Through conversation with her, she presented West Point as an opportunity for me to pursue my endeavors, and through this experience I hope to gain the same leadership qualities that she possesses.”
