Three Alumnae Join SCA

Marisa Totino Villani '04, Board of Trustees member

Marisa Totino Villani '04, senior assistant dean for undergraduate studies at the Gabelli School of Business at Fordham University, has been named to SCA’s Board of Trustees. She resides in Westchester with her husband Thomas. Marisa and Thomas look forward to welcoming their first child this coming January.

At Fordham, she oversees the undergraduate business program. Marisa has worked in many facets of higher education, including academic affairs, student success, alumni relations, housing and residential life, student leadership, and transition year advising and programming. She has her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Fordham University and is currently enrolled in Fordham’s Catholic Education and Leadership doctoral program.

Marisa says she is delighted to join the Board of Trustees at St. Catharine Academy where she hopes her professional and educational experiences can contribute to the growth and successes of the SCA community.

“As a first generation college student, I understand firsthand the impact that Catholic education can have on someone's life - personally, spiritually, and professionally,” Marisa observes. “During my time as a student at SCA, I learned what my core values are. The experiences I had at SCA helped to shape my college and early professional life. The Mercy and Jesuit charisms that were present in my educational journey have taught me that education is not only a way to advance personally, it is a way for a person to encounter her faith, grow with others, and make a positive impact in the world. My work and my interest in Catholic education is my social justice -- it is my own little way of working to help others grow and advance and it reminds me daily of the great gifts God gives us every day.”

As a Board member, Marisa plans to serve SCA’s community and create more opportunity for the students of today and tomorrow. “I am so impressed and encouraged by the growth and advancement that SCA has made since I walked the halls…I hope that my experiences can contribute to SCA's continued success especially through my work as co-chair of the development committee where I will work alongside Steve Stritch and other board members to connect more alumnae back to SCA.”
