Welcome to SCA
Welcome from our President
We are thrilled that you are interested in finding out more about St. Catharine Academy. Welcome!
St. Catharine Academy (SCA) is a Catholic all-girl high school founded in 1889, and sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy. At SCA we have been educating high school aged girls for 133 years, and we know a thing or two about the power of an all-girl education and why it is important.
For example:
- We know girls thrive academically in an all-girl environment.
- Our students grow in self-confidence and self-esteem. Leadership development is core to our education. At SCA, all the leadership positions are held by young women.
- Our students grow in their faith and relationship to God. Our world needs leaders who possess a moral compass to guide their life’s journey.
- We give particular attention to the safety and wellbeing of our students. Our students tell us that our diverse environment allows them to feel accepted and comfortable.
As you click through our website I hope that you discover the richness of our diverse and rigorous academic program, our array of clubs and activities and our service opportunities.
Finally, a Mercy school strives to create a spirit of hospitality. St. Catharine Academy recently completed a major renovation to make our school more secure and hospitable and inclusive of all who enter our doors. Our grounds and building are now handicap accessible. Attached is a link of our new entryway, lobby and grounds. We've found it to be a place that our students really enjoy and hope that you will come and see for yourself.
Again, thank you for visiting us. To get to know us better, please join us for one of our virtual or in person events by registering at https://www.scahs.org/apps/pages/visitSCA.
