St. Catharine Academy was named to the Advanced Placement® Program (AP®) School Honor Roll, earning GOLD distinction and was also recognized with the AP Access Award in 2023.

College Board Diversity Award

St. Catharine Academy has earned the College Board AP® Computer Science Female Diversity Award for achieving high female representation in AP Computer Science Principles. Schools honored with the AP Computer Science Female Diversity Award have expanded girls’ access in AP computer science courses.                                                       beta award of distinction 
With a strong STEM program, SCA was honored with National Beta Award "School of Distinction." 2020-2021 and 2021-2022. National Beta School of Distinction Award is an honor for Beta clubs striving towards academic achievement, exemplary character, demonstrated leadership and service to others. 
 
IN 2023, the Robotics Team won the "Judges Award" 5 times including States. They received a special invitation to compete at Vaughn College's premier live Drone Competition. A number of students have been accepted into Summer Programs at colleges and universities, including Amherst College, Manhattan College and New York University.
 
Also, during the 2020s, the Robotics team qualified and competed at "Worlds" for the World Championship Drone Virtual Robotics Competition ranking 25th internationally.  The Drone Team ranked 5th internationally at "Worlds" for the World Championship after the March 2022 Drone Virtual Robotics Competition.

The Classes of 2022 and 2023 had a 100% passing rate of 3 or more on the AP Art and Design 2D exam and placed students with scholarships in prestigious college programs. 

 
Sports Highlights
 
  • SCA Cheer teams: have gone to Nationals for 19 years. In 2015 and 2018, the Junior Varsity took home Gold medals.  In 2016 and 2018, the Varsity team took home Bronze medals in the highly competitive Tumbling Division.  

  • SCA Varsity Basketball team: was the Catholic High School Athletic Association Tier 3 State Finalist in 2022.  The team also captured the Regular Season title, Archdiocesan Championship and New York City Championship.  After graduating much of the 2022 team, the team was a playoff semi-finalist.

  • SCA Varsity Volleyball team: Junior Varsity was the Tier 2 2019 and 2020 Archdiocesan Champions. Varsity was 2019 and 2020 Tier 2 Archdiocesan Finalists.  The Varsity also captured the 2021 Tier 2 division title.

  • SCA Softball team: 2019 Archdiocesan Tier 2 Champions and 2022 Archdiocesan Tier 2 Finalist.
